Mavis Barber, LMT

Mavis studied massage therapy at East West College of the Healing Arts and joined the Equilibrium team in May of 2026 with a passion to support patients with chronic pain, as well as to further develop their skill set. They are available Mondays at Equilibrium.

Mavis creates a safe, holistic space for individuals to further deepen their connection with their bodies, reduce pain, and promote healing. They do so by incorporating a blend of therapeutic modalities such as myofascial release, deep tissue, Swedish, Ayurvedic techniques, and structural bodywork, depending on each patient’s treatment goals and preferences.

Mavis’ interest in pursuing a career in massage therapy was ignited from their own experience receiving bodywork for chronic neck and back pain. As a queer trans person, they have struggled throughout their life to feel connected and comfortable in their own body. Massage therapy, specifically myofascial techniques, completely changed their mind-body connection with self and kindled a passion to help others experience the same relief, peace and connectedness that safe, therapeutic touch can bring.

Outside of massage, Mavis enjoys spending their time in nature, swimming in rivers, gardening, biking, backpacking, creating, and sharing meals with chosen family.
